Maybe the Columbus Clippers are too busy getting ready for the 2009 season, or maybe they just didn't like my asking if putting a ship beyond the outfield wall was part of the new stadium's $56 million budget (it was a halfway serious question ... Raymond James Stadium in Tampa has the pirate ship), but either way, my questions about the new 10,000-seat Huntington Park went unanswered. No matter, onward we go.
To answer my own question, EarthCam doesn't seem to show any signs of a gigantic ship at the ballpark. Although that would have made it even more amazing, Huntington Park is definitely going to be one of the best in all of Minor League baseball.
Add the fact that the ballpark is located in the Arena District in downtown Columbus, and the Clippers are now affiliated with the home-state Indians, and it should be a pretty successful season for the team.
